Palantir Expands UK Defense Footprint Through AI Partnership
Palantir Technologies is deepening its commitment to the UK defense sector with a new AI partnership, positioning the country as a strategic growth market. The data analytics firm plans "significant investment" in Britain, citing its combination of technical talent, government support, and military demand for advanced systems.
The company has already pledged £1.5 billion to UK operations and nears finalization of a £750 million Ministry of Defence contract. London now hosts Palantir's second-largest global office with nearly 1,000 employees, generating about 10% of total revenue.
While UK momentum accelerates, CEO Alex Karp describes continental Europe as "stagnant" in adopting defense AI. The divergence highlights how geopolitical priorities and procurement timelines create uneven adoption curves for advanced technologies.
